Adventures of Loving Annie: The Plaza Hotel, New York

A few short steps in the other direction is Madison and Fifth Avenue, where the stores are so lovely, it's almost impossible not to shop :)Still being renovated, with perhaps another 3 months to go until the grand opening, The Plaza Hotel is beautiful.Make sure when you make your reservations, to ask for a room facing 5th Avenue, so that you will have a bit of a view from your windows.Only the condominiums will face Central Park. It all works beautifully.I've never had a chandelier in a bedroom before :)The mosaic filled bathroom is delightful, with big soft white towels and thick bathrobes.Miller Harris 'Citron Citron' amenities smell good, and are replenished each day.The shower has a rain head, and a beautiful frosted glass door. And then there was breakfast :)Breakfast is served on beautiful linen tablecloths, with oversized linen napkins.Heavy silver-plate silverware and silver salt and pepper grinders, as well as silver sugar and butter containers decorate the table, pretty as well as functional..Lovely white Bernardaud china from France has gold edging. There is an orange daisy with a pussy willow in an ornately carved silver bud vase.'Fresh' orange juice tasted like it came from a carton, so the chef kindly cut up some oranges and squeezed it right then and there - it was delicious !The eggs were prepared perfectly.
